The town of Cody, Wyoming is inextricably tied to the history of Yellowstone, America's first National Park, as the town was created with the intention of being an entrance to the park. One of the most scenic drives in America is from Cody to the park's east entrance, which can include sightings of elk, big horn sheep, bison, eagles, and more. The Yellowstone Burners are a group of folks who live in Cody, have lived in Cody, or have a personal connection to these people and this special place. We also attend Burning Man.

In 2022, after missing two years of gathering in the Black Rock Desert due to the global pandemic, the Yellowstone Burners were inspired to harness the wondrous natural energy of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and bring it to the citizens of Black Rock City.
