The Yellowstone Burners are a non-profit art group based in the Cody, Wyoming area. We are located just 52 miles from the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. We produce the Voodoo on the Bayou Halloween event and the Steampunk Wonderland event for New Year's Eve. We also bring our Saddle Up! bus and Watering Hole Saloon to the Yellowstone Beer Fest in 2018 and 2019; we plan to participate again in 2020. New to our roster in 2019 was the Beartooth Music Festival; we provided art for the stage and brought our Saddle Up!  bus to provide participants with free hydration. In 2019, we also used our bus to provide a 4th of July float for our friends at Sunlight Martial Arts, turning it into a Korean water dragon. For that, the float won both the Judge's Choice and Mayor's Favorite awards!

We are inspired by attending the Burning Man event each year and with that, all of our activities are donation based; nothing is for sale.

Our mission is to:
  • Facilitate the creation of unconventional public and collaborative art;
  • Enable skills for working creatively as a group - our art pieces are collaborative, rather than the product of a single artist;
  • Showcase our group's final pieces in local, Wyoming-wide, regional, or nationwide public spaces or events such as parades, County Fairs, and festivals where public art can be on display, free of charge;
  • and operate under the 10 Principles of Burning Man.

Please consider making a donation or volunteer your time to help with our current project! Also, a HUGE thank you to the Powell Tribune for their coverage of our Saddle Up! project, to the Big Horn Radio Network for having us on Party Line, and to the Yellowstone Beer Fest for allowing us to serve free water to all participants. You can also see this video that talks more about Saddle Up!
